Abstract: The study examines the utilization of assistive technology by learners with hearing impairment. It used qualitative systematic reviews where inclusion and exclusion criteria were set to obtain and analyze secondary data. The Preferred Reporting Items and Systematic Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) design was used to identify and screen relevant studies. The study established three specific research questions: (i)What types of hearing assistive technologies are available to learners with hearing impairment? (ii)What are the attitudes of learners with hearing impairment towards the use of assistive technologies? (iii)How do assistive technologies contribute to learning for learners with hearing impairment? The study used Science Direct, Google Scholar, and Research Gate as databases. Boolean and proximity operators’ strategies were used to obtain 93 studies whereas 30 studies qualified for this study. The study revealed that assistive devices enhance communication, academic performance, and self-esteem. The study recommends that teachers train users on use and maintenance of technological devices.
