Online strategies for managing challenging behavior in autism

Author(s): Dr. Maria Ebner

Abstract: The rise of digital tools and the increasing accessibility of telehealth services have provided new avenues for managing challenging behaviors in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This paper explores the effectiveness of online strategies, including telehealth interventions, virtual therapy sessions, and digital resources designed for parents and caregivers to address challenging behaviors in autistic children. Through a review of current literature and case studies, the paper highlights how online platforms are transforming behavior management in autism, emphasizing their accessibility, convenience, and adaptability for individualized care. The results indicate that online strategies, when properly implemented, can be highly effective in managing behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, and communication difficulties, particularly when in-person interventions are not feasible.
